It’s been almost a year now from leaving my country.Almost a year of culture shock, ups and downs, exploring, learning, having fun and so much more. I’m grateful for how much I’ve discovered about myself, my teachers, other people and about hard work, and life itself. It’s hard to write down an entire life experience into a few words, but I’ll try my best. However, almost everything I learned here in the US doesn’t only apply of living here but can also apply to anything that I want to do.When I first arrived to the US with my family, everything was like a dream. The cultural diversity, the food, talking to people who are always nice to you because they want to make a good impression. At the same time as being a father and a student, my senses are on high level and I notice every little thing that’s different from my country . Its a whole new chapter in my life and I will try my best to enjoy and take full benefit from it.

Thanksgiving !!!
What
are the three things that I am most thankful for?
Well,, I think this is
the toughest question I’ve ever had. There are many things that I am thankful
for but I have to say that I am most thankful for having a roof over my head,
food on my table, and clothing to wear for me and my family. Family is the most
important thing in our current life; therefore, having a secure and decent life
is very important. I’m so glad that there are some people waiting for me to
return home with a great passion and enthusiasm every single day!! That, what I’m
really thankful for. I’m thankful for God that I’m in a good health compared to
other people life. There are billions of things to be thankful for and I don’t
think there is one thing I am not thankful for.

If I was elected
If I
was elected to become the president of my country, I am not going to promise
the people any thing except that I will try my best to clean the entire old
miss from the previous administration and inject it with new youth bloods. But when
it comes to only three thinks that I have to change are the following: The Ministry
of Education, Ministry Of Justice, and The Ministry of Health. From my own
personal view, those ministries are the lifeblood and the main feeder for
society, because if those official ministries were fixed and proved, the whole society
will a prove and make a huge progress.

If somebody asked me where do I want to live? In my opinion,
what really important is the community that I choose to stay with. In other
words, if my family and loved ones and my friends with me, any place around the
world will be perfect for me. The earth is not just a stone or land and
water..it is a human being before anything at all. However, if I had the
opportunity to live in a new country or place, I will say the Maldives. I’d
never been there before, but I looked it up and asked one of my friends about
it. What I really like about it is the open area, the sea is surrounding the
whole island with a wonderful beaches. I heard that the Maldives is a family
friendly place and their people generosity and it safe. All in all, life inherently
difficult and tough in many cases, but nothing is Impossible.

Cellphones
If I have the ability to uninvent something that
will be defiantly cellphones. Although cellphones have many benefits nowadays,
it distracts people from face to face communication. I think that by abandoning
it, people to will start to talk to each other in person again!! The consequence
would be that people would have to concentrate on what they are doing, talk to
people near to them, speak to their children, and most important they will
start to watch where they are driving
and walking. We know how many accidents caused by cellphone, because the driver
was too busy texting!! However, no one can deny the pros of using it, but from
my experience, our lives were better in terms of socially and economically
before cellphone was invented.

My Dream Job
Each one of us has a dream to accomplish. Of course, not all dreams come true, but
with determination and persistence, hopes and dreams will be real. I’ve always wanted to become a pilot. It’s been my
lifelong dream for as long as I can remember.
Ever since I was a little kid also I played
with my toys and I was always interested in flying. My toys don’t have wings or
any type of flying equipment, but I still would make them fly. I had all support that needed from my family and
friend to achieve this dream, which grows up with me every day. They supported me the whole time because they knew how
important it was to me.
After
graduating from high school, I’ve started to collect information about applying
for this job. I knew that I had to inter the aviation college in order to
graduate from it to become a professional pilot. To get accepted there I had to
pass several physical and mental tests. Unfortunately, I could not pass the
sighting test L.
From that moment, I realized that I will never be a pilot, but I am not going
to give up. I really don’t know what started my
obsession with aviation, but it’s always been there, and always will.

About My Self
Hello all, my name is Abdulaziz Alshaikh, but you could call me Aziz !! it is much easier :).
Highlights of my life have included the birth of my beautiful daughter, my wedding and my college graduation, the day I saw my father return from serving in the Gulf War in 1991. He served his country in the Royal Saudi Land Force for 25 years and retired as a general in 2006. My father is my idol. His passion, desire, and dedication to serve were a huge influence on my decision to follow his footsteps and join the military. Therefore, after graduating from high school, I entered King Abdulaziz Military Academy where I received the toughest training and education. With patience, endurance and a lot of hard work I graduated in 2003 and have been serving in the Department of Administration and Finance for the Ministry of Defense ever since as a captain and look forward to expanding my knowledge to better serve my country.
